Do you want to learn how to play chess but are unsure of where to start? Join Chess: Beginner to Tactician, an eight-week course designed to teach you the basics of the game and give you the confidence and skills needed to begin your journey.

This weekly course will start with absolute basics, but by the end you will be spotting checkmates, identifying pins and thinking like a pro! You will even learn how to record your games and study from others, using algebraic notation (international chess-speak).

To accommodate everyone, we have 3 series running this term. On Tuesdays we have sessions for people aged 15 and older, while the Wednesday and Thursday sessions are for teaching 7-14 year-olds.

Registration is now open for Term 2 classes. Registration is for the full 8 weeks.

For participants under 18 years
