Come on over to the libraries and have some summer dreaming and reading fun!

Children and families will enjoy 'Summer Dreaming - Moemoeaa Raumati' while exercising their brains over the summer with positive activities that can be done in-library, at home, or online.

Read or complete activities to earn entries into our prize draws. Plus earn bonus entries by finding the six summer reading mascots (pictured below) hidden around our website! If you find one, click it to fill in the bonus entry form.

Our summer reading programme runs from Monday 20 December 2021 to Friday 28 January 2022.

Design a library card

Bring out your artistic side and design a library card for Hamilton City Libraries. One lucky winner will have their design on a limited edition library card that will be available to all our customers.

This year we’re doing things a bit differently. Due to changing Covid settings we can’t host you in the libraries, so special activity packs will be available from all our libraries during the programme.

If you can't get to the library this summer, kids who are registered for the Summer Reading Programme can still talk to our librarians via Zoom each week!
