Correspondence regarding renaming Garden Place

1974.02a

This week we are highlighting an item of correspondence received by the library in 1974 from a descendant of a militia settler, Frederic Gaudin. The author recalls the sale of land now known as Garden Place prior to the removal of the hill and previous ownership of the ‘Waikato Hotel’ which became the Riverina.

We may not receive as many typewritten letters any more but we certainly appreciate any contributions of information to our items. You can explore more images like this, and other items from our archival collection via our Heritage Collections Online and leave a comment or email us.
