Central Library roof replacement
As part of sensible and pragmatic asset maintenance across Hamilton City Council, we carry out a range of renewal projects on our buildings and structures.
For the Central Library, we have a scheduled roof replacement project starting on 29 January 2019, running for about six weeks.
The project will be undertaken by several contracted firms, and will require a fair bit of activity around and on top of our library – including the use of a couple of cranes to lift new roofing product on to the top of our building.
The cranes will be used from two locations, for one day each – from the front of our building, and from the carpark of the Days Hotel and Suites Hamilton. Your access in and out of the Central Library will not be restricted, but you might see and hear a fair bit of activity on and around our building.
We want to reassure all our customers our library will remain open for its usual business hours while this project is underway – however some parts of Level 3 will be temporarily unavailable from time to time, and we’ll make sure we have some material in our library explaining the situation.
If you have any questions, please let us know.
