This flier promotes the annual gathering hosted by the South Auckland Caledonian Society at Lake Rotoroa on 3 January 1928. The event included sporting, Highland dancing and piping competitions with competitors from around the country. The Balclutha Boys’ Band performed and a Grand Social and Dance was held in the Winter Show Hall during the evening. A gold cup worth £50 for the piping competition was presented by Mr John Gordon and was won by G. McDonald.
