    Oxford Music Online
    Latin hip hop, Husker Du, 14 types of drums and Valentina Konen. Find out who, or what these are using the reference sources contained in Oxford Music Online.

    Naxos Music Library
    A rich resource for fans of Classical music in particular. Discover new treasures by listening to any of more than 880,000 tracks from over 62,000 CDs. Learn more about the composers and their compositions by reading the PDFs of the CD booklets.

    Naxos Music Library: Jazz
    Listen to a wide range of contemporary jazz from Scandinavia, the United States, Germany, Australia and New Zealand. There's a smaller selection of jazz and blues legends as well.

    Naxos Spoken Word Library
    Listen online to some of the world’s greatest literature including works by Jane Austen, James Joyce, Marcel Proust and Virginia Woolf. Some works include accompanying text on screen.

    Britannica Student
    Like Britannica Junior but aimed at kids aged between 10 and 14 so topics covered go into a little more depth.

    Encyclopaedia Britannica
    From A cappella to Zaltan and everything in between. Search for or browse topics. Topic overviews include images and links to related topics within the encyclopedia. To expand your research, look for the Journals & Magazines link or the Web's Best Sites link.

    World Book
    Includes a section for Kids, an Info Finder and a Reference Centre. The Kids section is particularly great if you're looking for science project ideas or fun educational activities. The Reference Centre includes computer and web tutorials, a citation builder, a timeline builder, a section on how to do research and a good online dictionary.

    Oxford English Dictionary
    Details the meaning, pronounciation and history of over 600,000 words. The history of the English language is traced through the 3 million quotations the online dictionary contains. New words are added every 3 months.

    ProQuest
    This database includes science and health related magazine articles but the main emphasis is on scholarly journal articles. For more general information about science subjects try Encyclopaedia & Reference. For New Zealand science articles try findNZarticles and New Zealand Index.

    Papers Past
    68 New Zealand newspapers and periodicals from the late 19th century and early 20th century have been digitised for you to search across and to view in their original format. Titles include Grey River Argus (West Coast, 1866-1920), Mataura Ensign (Otago, 1883 - 1900), Thames Star (Waikato, 1874-1920) and Daily Southern Cross (Auckland, 1843-1876).
