With so many resources packed together, we understand that finding an item can be quite a task if you don't know where to look. Here we introduce you to a fantastic tool that will point you in the right direction and track down what you are looking for - the catalogue. The catalogue will help you:Track down a specific item So what if the item I want isn't available right now?If the item is not available you can reserve it in a number of ways - some don't even require you to leave home! Reserve your item:At any catalogue terminal in the library or through the catalogue on this website - you will need your PIN to do this . Alternatively at any information desk in the library or by telephone. There'll be a small reservation fee for adult items which you can pay when you collect the item. Often there will be other library members who are after the same item as you, so if you cancel the reserve or fail to collect it you will still need to pay the reservation fee. An automated phone call will let you know when you can pick your item up. Our library doesn't have the item - what can I do?If the library doesn't hold the item you want ask about our inter-library loan service, which allows us to source the item from other libraries in New Zealand. There is a fee of $5 per item (up to 5 requests per annum) for this service. As a library member you are welcome to make suggestions for addition to the collection. If the recommendation is approved, a reserve will be placed, and a small reservation fee for adult items will apply. Can I keep something for longer than the due date?Have you borrowed a book you just can't put down or a CD you just have to listen to again - but your loan period has expired? Free items can be renewed once for another 28 days if there are no reservations on them. If you want to renew an item - you can do this : at any catalogue terminal in the library, at any information desk in the library, by telephone, by looking on the catalogue on this website . |
