Our Newspaper collection

Located on Level 3 of the Central Library, the newspaper collection holds the latest editions of 100 different national and international newspapers. This includes a good selection of Asian language newspapers in Cantonese, Chinese and Japanese.

You can access many of the newspapers we have, and many more, online through our website here.

What We Hold

Waikato Times holdings date back to 1872, and local newspapers such as the Hamilton Press are also held from the first issue. Back issues of the New Zealand Herald are held for 3 years. Back issues of other newspapers are held for between three to twelve months.
